Bears coach Marc Trestman acknowledged that Jay Cutler's inconsistent mechanics are an issue.
The old Bears seemed content to let Cutler coast. The new, introspective Bears are concerned with internal evaluation, which is often the tell-tale sign of a successful football franchise. "He has the ability to have precision mechanics, high-level mechanics," Trestman said of Cutler. "At times, he has them. And at times, he doesn't. ... Jay has the ability and the skill set to be very, very good at the mechanics all the time. And that's what you strive for."
