'Close call' on Andrew Cashner's availability

Padres manager Bud Black said it will be a "close call" as to whether or not Andrew Cashner (thumb) will be ready for the start of the season.
Cashner's thumb doesn't bother him anymore, and he's looked good this spring, but he might not have built up enough stamina by the time Opening Day arrives. It might make sense to play it safe and hold him out until mid-April. The hard-throwing right-hander has plenty of fantasy upside if he can stay healthy.
