Texans get their man, give Reed 2-year deal
Ed Reed - DB - Houston Texans
March 20, 2013 - 7:10 PM ET

Texans agreed to terms with S Ed Reed, formerly of the Ravens, on a two-year contract.

Financial terms have yet to be revealed, but CBS' Jason La Canfora "wouldn't be surprised at all" if Reed gets close to $6 million per season. If that's the case, he'll be one of the lone free agents to actually get close to what he was asking for. Reed is an ideal replacement for Glover Quin, and adds an edge to a defense that let itself get pushed around down the stretch last season. Along with Chicago's Brian Urlacher, Reed is the second defensive icon to move on from the only team he's ever known in the past hour.
