According to Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports, the Padres and Rangers are the "most active" among teams interested in trading for Tigers' right-hander Rick Porcello.
In fact, the Padres made an "aggressive offer" last week, but were turned down. Talks with the Rangers aren't at an advanced stage, but prospect shortstop Leury Garcia and right-hander Nicholas Tepesch are on the Tigers' wish list. The Orioles have also scouted Porcello, but Rosenthal and Morosi hear that there are still doubts about whether the Tigers will actually move him. Drew Smyly represents an alternative for Detroit's rotation, but they could keep him around as a long reliever or send him to Triple-A to continue to start every fifth day.
