FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Rockies are giving "serious consideration" to making Nolan Arenado their starting third baseman.
Rosenthal adds that the Rockies are still looking to upgrade their starting rotation, and could use Chris Nelson or Ramon Hernandez to acquire a veteran pitcher. Arenado is batting .276 with a 1.069 OPS in 29 plate appearances this spring. If he continues to hit, he could force his way onto the Opening Day roster.
