Daniel Murphy (intercostal strain) said he felt good after participating in a minor league game on Friday.
Murphy has been sidelined from game action the entire spring after straining an intercostal muscle early in camp. He was able to take batting practice before the game, and manned his position for five innings defensively without any issues. The Mets are confident that he'll be ready to go for Opening Day. While he doesn't offer much in terms of power or speed, he's a solid average guy who could be useable as a middle infielder in deeper leagues.
