Zack Greinke (elbow) played catch Friday for the first time since receiving platelet-rich plasma on Monday.
Greinke made a total of 63 throws, progressing from 60 feet to 90 feet. He's expected to play catch for several days before advancing to a bullpen session, which would leave him with only two spring starts before the regular season begins. As the Dodgers don't need a fifth starter until April 15, they could play it safe and start him on the DL to begin the year, rather than rushing him back too soon. It's difficult to view any player with elbow trouble as an ace in fantasy drafts.
