Lee turns down Yankees, will remain retired
Derrek Lee - 1B - Pittsburgh Pirates
March 14, 2013 - 8:20 PM ET

Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports reports that Derrek Lee has turned down an offer from the Yankees and will remain retired.

It's not a surprise after Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said earlier this week that he was "not optimistic" about the club signing the 37-year-old first baseman. If Lee's playing days are indeed over, he'll finish with a .281/.365/.495 career batting line, 331 homers and 1,078 RBI over 15 seasons.
