According to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Brewers have reached agreement on a four-year contract extension with outfielder Carlos Gomez.
Haudricourt says the deal, which covers Gomez's final season of arbitration and his first three years of free agency, will be worth "about $27.5 million." That's not a bad amount of money if Gomez can produce like he did in 2012, but he currently owns a troubling .247/.294/.379 career batting line. Gomez, 27, hit .260/.305/.463 with 19 home runs and 37 stolen bases last season.
