Andre Ethier won't be platooned

Though he will sometimes give Andre Ethier the day off against left-handers he has trouble against, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he's "definitely not going to platoon him."
Ethier is a career .238/.296/.352 hitter against left-handed pitching, but Mattingly is committed to playing his $85 million outfielder every day. Of course, it helps the outfielder's cause that the Dodgers don't really have any good options as potential platoon partners.
