Bautista could fill in for Lawrie at third
Jose Bautista - OF - Toronto Blue Jays
March 9, 2013 - 12:00 AM ET

With the possibility that Brett Lawrie could miss the first few weeks of the regular season, Blue Jays manager John Gibbons didn't rule out the possibility that Jose Bautista could start at third base in his absence.

The Jays maintain that they'll wait a few weeks and see how Lawrie is feeling before making any decisions, but this appears to be a legitimate possibility for the beginning of the season. While Bautista has stated his desire to play right field, he would likely sacrifice for the good of the time. If he were to regain third base eligibility in fantasy leagues, his value would certainly rise.
