David Phelps solid over four frames

David Phelps pitched four innings of one-run ball in Tuesday's Grapefruit League contest against the Braves.
Phelps permitted just two hits, walked one and struck out two. If Phil Hughes (back) is ready to take his first regular season turn in the rotation, Phelps will have to beat out Ivan Nova for the No. 5 spot. Both have pitched well so far this spring, with Phelps allowing just one run over nine frames and Nova tossing two scoreless innings in his lone appearances.
