Roberto Hernandez gave up a run in 2 2/3 hitless innings Tuesday in the Rays' 8-5 defeat of the Twins.
The run came after Hernandez was pulled with two outs in the sixth. The former Fausto Carmona ended his outing with three strikeouts and two walks. If Hernandez remains effective, then it would become easier for the Rays to trade Jeff Niemann.
