Angels manager Mike Scioscia said on MLB Network Radio on Sirius XM on Tuesday that Ryan Madson (elbow) will be ready sometime around mid-April.
Madson, who is currently working his way back from Tommy John surgery, is being brought along slowly after a setback earlier this month. He hopes to resume throwing off a mound within the next few days, but will need to make it through about eight bullpen sessions before appearing in a game. Ernesto Frieri is the current favorite for early save chances, but Scott Downs and Sean Burnett could also be in the mix.
