Pujols certain he'll be ready for Opening Day
Albert Pujols - 1B - Los Angeles Angels
March 1, 2013 - 11:55 PM ET

Albert Pujols stated Friday that he's certain he'll be ready to go for Opening Day, even if he doesn't get any at-bats in spring training.

Pujols is slowly working his way back from offseason arthroscopic knee surgery. He's been able to hit and take groundballs, but hasn't been cleared to do any sort of running on the field yet. Still, he maintains that if the season started tomorrow, he would be in the lineup. The Angels expect their star first baseman to begin playing in Cactus League games in mid-March. Even with the injury concern, he shouldn't fall out of the first round in any fantasy drafts.
