Mike Napoli passes all tests in spring debut

Mike Napoli (hips) passed every possible test during his spring debut on Friday, fielding his position well, aggressively running the bases, and delivering with the bat.
Napoli finished the evening 1-for-2 with an RBI. While his situation should clearly be monitored during spring training, barring any setbacks it appears that he's set to open the season as the Red Sox starting first baseman. While there is tremendous average liability in addition to the injury risk, Napoli's power potential from the catcher position still makes him an intriguing fantasy option.
