Cashman rules out deal with Johnny Damon

Yankees GM Brian Cashman ruled out a Johnny Damon deal Tuesday in a chat with reporters.
"We need somebody who can play the outfield every day," Cashman said. Damon is a lousy defensive outfielder and hit just .222/.281/.329 in 224 plate appearances last season with the Indians. The Yankees are expected to look internally to replace the injured Curtis Granderson.
