Evan Gattis homered and doubled as the Braves' designated hitter on Saturday.
Upping his stock with 16 homers in the Venezuelan Winter League, Gattis was being talked up as a possible starting left fielder for the Braves before the Justin Upton acquisition, and he's still being looked at a bench possibility, though it's hard to see the starting outfielders and Freddie Freeman getting enough days off between them to keep him sharp. Besides, Gattis has yet to have a single at-bat in Triple-A, suggesting he'd be better off playing regularly in the minors for at least the first month or two.
