Jeff Mathis was diagnosed with a broken collarbone and is expected to miss six weeks.
Mathis suffered the injury when he was hit by a foul tip during Saturday's Grapefruit League game. He will likely begin the season on the disabled list, so the Marlins could be in the market for a veteran catcher to back up young Rob Brantly. Kyle Skipworth is the only other catcher on the 40-man roster.
