Alex Speier of WEEI.com reports that an MRI this week confirmed that Mike Napoli's hip condition hasn't worsened.
Napoli was diagnosed with avascular necrosis during his pre-signing physical, but says the AVN in hips hasn't gotten worse and he'll now be allowed to increase his activity, including being cleared for position drills at first base. The Red Sox are expected to continue to limit him in spring training as a precautionary measure, but the 31-year-old says he'll be ready for Opening Day.
