Redskins GM comments on RGIII's progress
Robert Griffin III - QB - Washington Redskins
Feb. 15, 2013 - 11:45 AM ET

Redskins GM Bruce Allen says Robert Griffin III (knee surgery) is "(on) or ahead of schedule" in his rehab, but that it's far too early to know whether he'll be ready for Week 1.

"We'll see how it progresses," Allen said. "This will be an ongoing thing throughout the summer." ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday the Redskins believe RGIII has a "legitimate chance" of being ready for Week 1, but Allen is striking a far more guarded tone publicly. That's wise, since Griffin is still less than two months removed from going down. Griffin's Week 1 status won't be worth seriously speculating on before camp.
