Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo told Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and MLB Network Radio on SiriusXM that the team doesn't have interest in Kyle Lohse at this time.
Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post wrote Tuesday morning that the Nationals "may try to swoop in and sign" Lohse as an insurance policy for Gio Gonzalez, but the chances of the arrangement appear remote. Similarly, ESPN's Jayson Stark was told by a Nationals' source that he didn't see a deal happening. It's worth noting that the Nationals have been connected to free agent right-hander Javier Vazquez, who would likely come significantly cheaper and wouldn't cost a draft pick.
