Hanley Ramirez was slow to get up from a slide into second base during the Caribbean Series, but did not suffer any serious injury.
Good news. The Dodgers were hoping that Ramirez would be able to work on his defense during winter ball, but he mostly served as the designated hitter. Only adding to their frustration is that he figures to play third base during the World Baseball Classic with Jose Reyes and Erick Aybar already in-house at shortstop for the Dominican Republic. Still, the Dodgers' plan right now is for Ramirez to play shortstop and Luis Cruz to open the year at third base.
