Pirates signed LHP Francisco Liriano to a one-year, $1 million contract with a vesting option for 2014.
Liriano's broken right (non-throwing) arm ended up being quite costly, as he originally agreed to a two-year, $12.75 million contact in December. Tom Singer of MLB.com hears that the southpaw could max out at $12.75 million under the terms of the adjusted agreement, but he'll have to reach certain incentives by staying off the disabled list and have his option vest for that to happen.
