Mariners ink Jon Garland to minors deal

Mariners signed RHP Jon Garland to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
This confirms an earlier report from Jason Churchill of ESPN. Garland will take his physical once he joins the team in Peoria next week. The 33-year-old right-hander didn't pitch professionally in the 2012 season after posting a 4.33 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 54 innings before undergoing rotator cuff surgery in 2011.
