MASN's Roch Kubatko reports that the Orioles and Darren O'Day are close to agreeing to a two-year deal with an option for 2015.
The deal would buy out his final two years of arbitration and potentially his first year of free agency. O'Day requested $3.2 million and was offered $1.8 million by the Orioles when arbitration figures were exchanged last month. The 30-year-old right-hander is coming off an excellent season in which he posted a 2.28 ERA and 69/14 K/BB ratio over 67 innings.
