Orioles avoided arbitration with RHP Jason Hammel by agreeing to a one-year, $6.75 million deal.
The deal also includes $300,000 in available incentives. According to Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors, he can earn $100,000 each time he reaches specific benchmarks, including 25 starts, 175 innings pitched and 195 innings pitched. The deal is right in the expected range between what Hammel filed for and was offered from the Orioles. Assuming his knee is healthy, he could make for a nice sleeper in the later rounds of fantasy drafts.
