Orioles and RHP Jim Johnson avoided arbitration Friday by agreeing to a one-year $6.5 million contract.
The agreed upon deal is around the midpoint of arbitration figures exchanged last month. He can also earn an additional $50,000 in performance bonuses based on games finished. The 29-year-old was arbitration-eligible for the third time this winter and is cashing in big after saving 51 games in 2012.
