Ryan Braun's name appears in the records of the Miami-based Biogenesis clinic and Major League Baseball plans to investigate the link, according to Tim Brown and Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports.
This may spell trouble for Braun, who tested positive for an illegal synthetic hormone in 2011 but fought the positive test and avoided suspension due to a chain-of-custody error. While the records don't link Braun to specific performance-enhancing drugs, Braun's history could make it hard for him to escape this latest implication without punishment. The league has already stated an intent to investigate Biogenesis after the Miami New Times linked a handful of players to PEDs supplied by the clinic. Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli and Orioles third baseman Danny Valencia were also on the list discovered Tuesday night by Yahoo! Sports.
