Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said Tuesday that R.A. Dickey will start Opening Day against the Indians.
File this one under the "no kidding" tab, as the Blue Jays gave up a haul to acquire the reigning NL Cy Young winner in December. Dickey, 38, was a revelation in 2012, going 20-6 with a 2.73 ERA and striking out 230 batters in 233 2/3 innings. The knuckleballer will be the ace of a Blue Jays staff that also includes newcomers Josh Johnson and Mark Buehrle along with holdovers Brandon Morrow and Ricky Romero.
