Rich Dubroff of CSN Baltimore believes that the Orioles will wait until next offseason to sign Matt Wieters to a long-term extension.
The Orioles avoided arbitration with Wieters by agreeing to a one-year, $5.5 million contract earlier this month, but Orioles executive VP Dan Duquette has indicated that the organization has plans for a long-term deal. Wieters is under team control through 2015, so there's no rush for the sides to get something done.
