Cashman: It's possible A-Rod misses season
Alex Rodriguez - 3B - New York Yankees
Jan. 25, 2013 - 5:10 PM ET

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman admitted during an interview on WFAN Friday that it's possible Alex Rodriguez (hip) could miss the entire 2013 season.

"Yeah," Cashman said. "I think because (of) the serious nature of the surgery and the condition that he's trying to recover from, you know, there is that chance." There's no reason to believe at this point that A-Rod won't be back around midseason as hoped, but Cashman's answer is a reminder that there is a level of uncertainty regarding the third baseman's rehab. The Yankees will use Kevin Youkilis at third base until A-Rod is ready.
