Freese files for $3.75 million in arbitration

David Freese requested $3.75 million and was offered $2.4 million from the Cardinals when arbitration figures were exchanged Friday.
Freese is arbitration-eligible for the first time this winter after hitting .296/.363/.446 over his first four seasons in the majors. There's a pretty wide gap between the two sides, but they'll attempt to find middle ground in the weeks ahead.
