USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Mets have "strong interest" in Brian Wilson.
Nightengale notes that Mets general manager Sandy Alderson watched Wilson during a private workout Saturday. It's not clear whether he threw off a mound during the workout, which is something he's expected to be cleared to do soon. The Mets would give Wilson their closer job, sending Frank Francisco to a setup role. "The Beard" is reportedly drawing interest from 9-10 clubs.
