Brewers sign Kelvim Escobar to minors deal

Brewers signed RHP Kelvim Escobar to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Escobar drew positive scouting reports this offseason in the Venezuelan Winter League and is expected to operate in middle relief for Milwaukee. He hasn't pitched in the major leagues since 2009. The 36-year-old right-hander owns a 4.15 career ERA and 1.38 career WHIP in the bigs.
