Mets checked in on Upton and Kubel

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Mets checked in with Arizona about Justin Upton and Jason Kubel.
But the Mets found the asking price too high on Upton and couldn't figure out a match in trade talks for Kubel. Upton has also drawn interest recently from the Padres, Rangers, Mariners and Braves. He seems likely to be dealt before the opening of spring training in February.
