VandenHurk to sign with foreign team

Rick VandenHurk plans to sign with a foreign club.
The Pirates made that announcement on Saturday night while confirming that the 27-year-old right-hander has been released. VandenHurk pitched very well for the Pirates' Triple-A affiliate in 2012, posting a 2.92 ERA and 113/35 K/BB ratio in 123 1/3 innings of work. It's not clear which foreign baseball league he intends to join.
