Astros have been in touch with Berkman

Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow told Brian McTaggart of MLB.com that he has been in touch with free agent Lance Berkman over each of the past two days.
Luhnow didn't say much beyond that, but this would seem to confirm that the Astros remain interested in bringing back Berkman, even after the recent signing of Carlos Pena. The 36-year-old has also drawn interest from the Rangers, Rays and Orioles, who could all offer a DH spot and the chance of playing for a contending team.
