Braves, Mariners, Rangers in on Justin Upton
Justin Upton - OF - Arizona Diamondbacks
Jan. 3, 2013 - 7:55 PM ET

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Paul Morosi report that the Rangers, Mariners and Braves have all "expressed strong interest" in Justin Upton.

The Rangers, of course, have long held interest in the talented outfielder, and the Mariners were mentioned earlier Thursday by ESPN's Buster Olney as a potential landing spot. The Braves reportedly dropped out of the Upton sweepstakes last month after the D'Backs insisted that Andrelton Simmons was part of the deal, but Arizona has other needs now after the acquisition of Didi Gregorius. The report notes, though, that the D'Backs "continue to send mixed signals about their intentions" regarding Upton, as some believe they're still more likely to deal Jason Kubel. They'll almost surely trade one or the other.
