Report: Bobby Abreu worked out for Red Sox

According to Alex Speier of WEEI.com, Bobby Abreu worked out for the Red Sox in Venezuela.
The Red Sox had Abreu go through drills at first base during the workout, though it was likely just a matter of due diligence. The 38-year-old has never played first base during his 17-year major league career. He'll likely have to settle for a minor league deal after batting just .242 with three homers and a .693 OPS in 257 plate appearances in 2012.
