Yankees still interested in Scott Hairston

The New York Post's Kevin Kernan reports that the Yankees remain interested in Scott Hairston even after the Matt Diaz signing.
Diaz inked a minor league deal earlier this week and could wind up platooning in right field with Ichiro Suzuki, but the Yanks haven't ruled out bringing in a more high profile name. They've been connected to Hairston all offseason, though the outfielder reportedly would prefer to re-sign with the Mets so that he can play every day.
