Napoli, Boston working through 'hip language'

According to Jim Bowden of ESPN and SiriusXM, the Red Sox "continue to work through 'hip' language" in Mike Napoli's yet-to-be-finalized three-year contract.
In the meantime, the Boston front office has made contact with the representatives for free agent first baseman Adam LaRoche. Napoli agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal with the Red Sox on December 3 but a physical turned up a problem with his hip. It seems very possible that the agreement will fall through entirely.
