Scott Hairston prefers to re-sign with Mets

Wallace Matthews of ESPNNewYork.com hears that Scott Hairston prefers to re-sign with the Mets so that he can play every day.
Hairston likely would be in line for more playing time with the Mets than he would elsewhere, but New York also reportedly isn't anxious to offer him the two-year deal he's seeking. The Braves and Yankees are among the clubs pursuing the free agent outfielder.
