Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the Tigers are being given a chance to match the Cubs' five-year, $75 million offer to Anibal Sanchez.
If the Tigers are willing to match the deal, Sanchez will choose them over the Cubs. Detroit had been only willing to go to four years for the right-hander, but perhaps they'll change their mind and give the extra year in order to get the deal done. Sanchez posted a 3.86 ERA over 31 starts this past season between the Marlins and Tigers.
