R.A. Dickey disappointed in talks with Mets
R.A. Dickey - S - New York Mets
Dec. 11, 2012 - 10:50 AM ET

R.A. Dickey said Tuesday that he has been disappointed in contract talks with the Mets.

In his most frank comments to date, Dickey said that he has been generous with his asking price and has extended an olive branch to the club. He also added that he would likely sign elsewhere next offseason if the Mets have him simply play out his 2013 option. Dickey is reportedly asking for a two-year extension worth $26 million while the Mets recently upped their offer to $20 million. Something will have to give soon.
