Dallas practice squad LB Jerry Brown killed
Jerry Brown - LB - Dallas Cowboys
Dec. 9, 2012 - 2:20 AM ET

The Dallas Police Department has confirmed that Cowboys practice squad OLB Jerry Brown has died as a result of teammate Josh Brent driving drunk and flipping his car early Saturday morning.

Brown was the passenger in the car, and Brent has been booked in Irving (TX) County jail on charges of intoxicated manslaughter. Brown was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Colts in 2011 and appeared in one regular season game this year prior to being waived and subsequently signed to the Dallas practice squad. Owner and GM Jerry Jones released the following statement: "We are deeply saddened by the news of this accident and the passing of Jerry Brown. At this time, our hearts and prayers and deepest sympathies are with the members of Jerry's family and all of those who knew him and loved him."
