Braves purchased the contract of RHP Zeke Spruill from Double-A Mississippi.
The move protects him from December's Rule 5 Draft. Spruill, 23, posted a 3.67 ERA and 106/46 K/BB ratio over 161 2/3 innings in 27 starts at the Double-A level this season. While he probably needs another year in the minors, he has a chance to make it as a backend starter.
