Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey wins NL Cy Young
R.A. Dickey - S - New York Mets
Nov. 14, 2012 - 7:10 PM ET

The Mets' R.A. Dickey has been announced as the National League Cy Young winner.

It's not surprising that he won, but it was surprising that he won so comfortably, as Dickey received 27 of 32 first-place votes and finished 113 points ahead of runner-up Clayton Kershaw. Dickey, of course, becomes the first knuckleballer to win the award, and he does so at the age of 38. Gio Gonzalez, Johnny Cueto and Craig Kimbrel all received a first place vote, in addition to Kershaw's two first-place tallies.
