Matt Joyce provided all of the offensive support that Matt Moore and the Rays would need in their 3-1 victory over the Mariners on Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI.
Joyce got the scoring started in the first inning with an RBI triple off of Hector Noesi, then came around to score the second run of the game on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Luke Scott. He extended the Rays lead in the third with a towering solo blast to right field. He's been on a tear to start the season, now hitting .306 with six homers and 11 RBI. He'll be relied on even more heavily now to provide power to the Rays offense with Evan Longoria potentially sidelined for the next six weeks.
