Giancarlo Stanton finally hit his first home run in Sunday's loss to the Diamondbacks, taking Mike Zagurski deep for a three-run blast in the ninth.
The bomb was Stanton's only hit of the afternoon, though he also plated Logan Morrison with a seventh-inning grounder. Playing through left knee soreness, Stanton has been out of sync since the spring, but he recently hinted he's beginning to feel better. Stanton has been a streaky player throughout his young major-league career, so perhaps this is the start of a hot streak. Hitting .246/.288/.348, his owners can only hope so.
